Swift TigerSharks share doubloons

BLINK and you would have missed the success of Casey TigerSharks’ sprint swimmers at the Victorian Sprint Championships over the weekend.
Taking to Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre with gusto, the City of Casey-based swimming club recorded a few strong performances at the Sprint series – one of the last big warm-up events before the Swimming Australia Age National Championships in April.
Top of the pops was Jake Mitreski, 14, from Berwick, taking out the 50m breaststroke in 32.38 ahead of Joshua Seignior and Dante Negri.
Perennial prodigy Bowen Gough, 16, continued his rapid rise in the sport as he knocked in a couple of medals – taking gold in the under-16 boys’ butterfly and silver in the 50m backstroke.
Rounding out the podium feats were Jessica Emmett – finishing third in the girls 50m freestyle – and Jayden Yong – earning bronze in the under-11 boys 50m butterfly.
