Sharp mourned

OPENING day for 2015 at Narre Warren Seniors was on Wednesday 21 January, with 92 members present.
Meeting and greeting was as warm as the weather outside, with talk of how Christmas was spent.
However, underlying all the chatter, was a deep sadness at the passing of beloved member Rene Sharp, on 20 January, aged 91. The group’s flag flew at half-mast and a minute’s silence was observed in her honour. Rene will be most sadly missed.
Door prize winners were Marion Allen, Reba Bell, Bert Austin and Monica Chai.
To celebrate Australia Day, the raffle prizes were seven koalas sporting the National flag. They were won by Sylvia Fielding, Marion Allen, Frank Cranston, George Carver, Estella Huergo, Rae Barfield and Ron Roe.
Starting off the entertainment for the year was Savio Gonsalvez with his quiet, inimitable style of old and new favourite vocals and excellent acoustic guitar accompaniment.
