Sure to be a blast

BLASTING the boundaries will be the next generation of south-east cricketers with the start of this year’s MILO T20 Blast program.
MILO T20 Blast bridges the gap between MILO in2CRICKET and junior club cricket.
The program introduces primary aged boys and girls to real games of T20 in a fun, inclusive and action packed environment where kids can develop the skills learnt from MILO in2CRICKET and build their passion for Australia’s favourite sport.
“Going from MILO in2Cricket to juniors is a pretty big step, but this makes it so much easier,’’ Cricket Australia senior game and market development manager Matt Dwyer said.
Running at two south-east locations next month – Berwick Fields Primary School and Barry Simon Reserve in Endeavour Hills – the program is focused on participation as every child gets to bat for four overs and bowl two.
They also go to “skills zones’’ when they are not involved in the play.
“The format is a fantastic learning environment where kids have fun and develop confidence to progress to junior cricket,” Cricket Australia’s junior participation specialist Kirsty Clark said.
More than 120,000 boys and girls around the country will take part in MILO T20 Blast School Cups at 600 sessions across Australia.
