Fake buyer steals three cars

A THIEF using a false name is accused of stealing three cars in Casey after duping their owners into letting him drive vehicles they are trying to sell.
Police allege a man using the alias Craig Watson reponds to for sale notices.
Police believe he uses a false ID, a photocopy of a recipt for a probationary licence.
After winning the trust of the vehicle’s owner, he asks to test drive the car.
During the test drive the thief deliberately causes a minor accident.
When the vehicle owner gets out to inspect the damage, the crook drives off leaving the hapless owner by the side of the road.
The missing vehicles have all been Toyota Corollas.
The victims, in Narre Warren and Cranbourne, were fleeced of their cars between 4 and 13 December.
The thief is described as tall with black hair, possibly of Lebanese origin.
None of the cars have been recovered.
