POLICE are investigating the cause of a fire which resulted in significant damage to a home in Cranbourne last night.
Just after 12pm, the Cranbourne Fire Brigade were called to a structure fire in Jaye Place, Cranbourne.
There were no occupants inside at the time, however Senior Station Officer at Cranbourne Stewart Curnrow said the house was well alight when they arrived and extensive damage was caused.
The Cranbourne and Narre Warren brigades attended, as well as a breathing apparatus support crew from Frankston.
A fire investigation team will attend the house today and police are treating it as a crime scene.
