AN AWARD winning school in Cranbourne held a ceremony to recommit to an agreement called the Confucius classroom.
Alkira College, which was recognised as the best Confucius classroom in the world this year, re-signed an agreement to be part of this program once again.
A ceremony was held on Friday 14 November to honour the occasion with schools from across the area also present to take the pledge.
The program is sponsored by the Confucius Institute and Melbourne University. Assistant principal John Shaw from the school said he was “very happy and very pleased” with the school’s reputable work with this program.
Confucius classrooms deliver support at a local level for the Chinese language and education.
The school, which has an international focus, has been part of this program for the past four years and has sister schools across Asia in China, India, Malaysia and Korea.
Mr Shaw said the school “supports collaborative projects that promote the Chinese language” and that it has a great relationship with its sister schools across the world.
