CRANBOURNE BOWLS
Cranbourne Division 2 side defeated Cranbourne RSL 74 to 68, recording a six-shot win on Saturday at home.
Club chairman Ken Fulton playing in the game went on to say, “We always look forward to playing against Cranbourne RSL. Both sides are fierce competitors and we always expect a tough game, but this time we had the better of them to win a close encounter played in good spirit at our home ground”.
“Our confidence is now high and we believe that we can now go on and record some good wins for the rest of the season,” Fulton said.
Not such good news for our Division 1 side who were outplayed by Heathmont to lose by 29 shots. Next week they play a tough game against MCC at home who are third on the ladder.
However, better performances from our Division three side who won by 11 shots and our Division 7 team who had a massive win by 62 shots.
Division 1
All four rinks lost with skips Steve Arthur losing by six shots; Lyn Quigg losing by three shots; Ray Travica losing by eight shots and Peter Colthup and his team losing by 12 shots resulting in a final score for Cranbourne of 60 losing to Heathmont 89.
Division 2
Cranbourne played Cranbourne RSL at home to record a six-shot win at home. Skip Brian Caddell and his team of Ray Boskell, Stan Myers and Fritz Helle recorded a good win joined by skip Matt Boltong and his team of Vic Butera, Rien Croymans and Roger Roscoe to defeat Cranbourne RSL by six shots with Cranbourne 74 to Cranbourne RSL 68.
Division 3
The Division 3 side defeated Glen Waverley by 11 shots with skips Keith Bowler and John Mulder and their sides recording good wins to get them over the line. Cranbourne 85 defeated Glen Waverley 74.
Division 4
No points for the Cranbourne Division 4 side being soundly defeated by a very strong Mulgrave team that went on to win by 47 sots. Cranbourne 63 to Mulgrave 110
Division 7
A massive 62-shot win against Chadstone was a very impressive result, picking up 17 valuable points for the victory.

C. Wright 31 – 14, F. Farrall 18 -16, L. Whalley 14 -19. Final score 63 – 49.
Division 1 Open
Away to Vermont South Cranbourne losing by four shots.
Very close win again by G. Dudink and team.
K. Fulton 22 – 18, M. Boltong 11 – 20, G. Dudink 19 – 18. Final score 52 – 56.
Division 2 Open
At home to Ferntree Gully, Cranbourne levelled to finish with a draw, after being well down during the day, a great comeback,
R. Sorenson 23 -14, I. Smith 20 – 29, K. Bowler 20 – 20. Final score 63 – 63.
Division 5 Open
Cranbourne played Bayswater at home, with one player short and lost in a very close game.
H. Van Soest 15.75 – 19.05, S. Depiazza 23 – 22. Final score 38.75 – 41.05.
