Vote for bowls upgrade

FROM what began as a vacant block of land in 1985, the Hampton Park Bowls Club is set for a funding boost with a $120,000 election commitment for a new synthetic green.
Making the commitment, State Government Assistant Treasurer Gordon Rich-Phillips joined Liberal candidate for Narre Warren South Susan Serey to announce the funding from a re-elected Napthine Government.
Ms Serey said the funding boost would be welcomed by all members.
“The club has had some hard times over the last couple of years with major flooding damaging the bowling green surfaces,” Ms Serey said.
“It will be a boost for the club, its members and the wider Hampton Park community who have pride in our local sporting clubs,” Ms Serey said.
“The Hampton Park Bowls Club has experienced sustained growth over the past few years.
“An extra green will assist the club to absorb the increased demand from residents,” Ms Serey said.
