A 16-YEAR-OLD boy remains in a serious condition at Monash Medical Centre following an attack in Hampton Park overnight.
Detectives have been told that a group of teenage boys were hanging out at a park on Fordholm Road just before 11.30pm when they were approached by a group of men.
It is believed this group chased and attacked the teenagers.
During the attack one of the boys from the initial group allegedly sustained a serious blow to the head, before the men fled the scene towards Hallam Road.
Friends of the young Endeavour Hills boys have then walked him to a nearby supermarket and attempted to treat his wounds, after which emergency service workers arrived.
The boy was taken to Monash Medical Centre shortly after.
Police wish to speak with any witnesses or anyone who has any information about the incident.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
