Purple relay passion

By BRIDGET SCOTT

A 12-YEAR-OLD Cranbourne girl has done her bit in the fight against cancer after she hosted two fundraising events for the Relay for Life.
Renee Chidgey of Devon Meadows Primary School held a gig at her school which starred Jaymie DeBoucherville and also got permission to host a purple themed day to raise much needed funds and awareness for cancer.
Renee said she took part in the event last year but this time she wanted to do something of her own.
She will participate in the event with the team Classic Rodders and has also made some wrist bands for her side.
Mother Darlene, who said Renee has roped the entire family into the relay event, added that she was very proud of her daughter’s efforts.
Both of Renee’s fundraising efforts were a big hit at the school and those who attended the gig on 21 October with Jaymie also waked away with a free copy of his new single, Trouble.
