CRANBOURNE RSL BOWLS
IT WAS a big week for the RSL with all five teams winning. A great effort on Saturday especially when you consider eight players were unavailable.
TUESDAY PENNANT
Cranbourne RSL 81 d Ferntree Gully 42
The RSL extended their winning streak to six games with a big win over Ferntree Gully. John Spencer’s team had another big 23-shot win. Cranbournes other two sides also won well.
Results: Ray Bligh/Colin Butler/Tom Bonney/John Spencer 37-14. Aggie Pichard/Graham Dore/Marg McIntyre/Yvonne Van Der Wees 19-13. Denise Meulman/Barry Rogers/Helena Rogers/Ray Chapman 25-15.
SATURDAY – DIVISION 2
Cranbourne RSL 78 d Pakenham 74
Finally back in the winner’s circle, the RSL knocked over their more highly fancied opponents Pakenham on their home track. Bill Bradbury led the way with an eight-shot victory but it was Ray Chapman’s team that had to bowl well over the last two ends when everyone else was finished to ensure victory.
Results: Alan Reynolds/Ken Walker/Rick Crawford/Bill Bradbury 23-15. Barry Graham/Maree Hodges/Yvonne Van Der Wees/Ray Chapman 23-20. Ray Bligh/Jesus Carretero/Fred Scicluna/Ken Hocking 14-17. Paul Males/Trevor Elsey/John Spencer/Mal Watkinson 18-22.
DIVISION 5
Cranbourne RSL 100 d Burwood District 70
Cranbourne scored a comfortable win over Burwood District – Michael Ryan’s team leading the
way with a 19-shot win, closely followed by Arthur Underwood’s team with a 12-shot win.

DIVISION 8 – TEAM 4
Cranbourne RSL 45 d Narre Warren 28
Cranbourne proved too good for Narre Warren with Murray Bulte’s team having a nice day and an easy 15-shot win. Brian Eagle in his first game for club (and skip) won by two shots.
Results: Michelle Smith/Laurie Meagher/Peter Zimmerman/Murray Bulte 24-9. Peter Campion/Harry Mills/Paul Kofler/Brian Eagle 21-19.
TEAM 3
Scored a walkover from Hampton Park – it’s a default win but it’s still a win.
