State support

AS ANOTHER state election looms, I was delighted to see our former mayors Geoff Ablett and Amanda Stapledon stand for local state seats in the Casey area.
As a former councillor for the Cranbourne township, I think it is vitally important to have that local knowledge and appreciation for local issues that only local government can give you.
Geoff and Amanda have that experience, having represented their ridings and the City of Casey for a number of years.
Jeff has been a great advocate on behalf of his riding on issues of public transport, sporting facilities, education and local business, and is passionate about his local area.
Amanda, like Geoff, has served her riding wonderfully well, particularly on issues such as health, transport, employment, not forgetting what she is extremely passionate about people with disabilities.
There is nothing like local knowledge when representing one’s area and, as I see it, Geoff and Amanda have that quality and a passion for the city they live in.
I am sure if elected to state Parliament they would represent us with enthusiasm and honesty, not only in local issues but also in the broader issues that confront our state.
I wish them well in their respective seats in the coming election.
Peter Giles,
Cranbourne.
