CRANBOURNE RSL BOWLS CLUB – PENNANT

TUESDAY
CRANBOURNE RSL 70 d BORONIA 44
The RSL proved too strong for the second-placed Boronia, winning by 26 shots at home.
Cranbourne remains undefeated after three rounds and on top of the ladder – a good start for the side back in Tuesday pennant after a number of years of non-activity.
Ray Chapman’s team led the way with a big 17-shot victory, closely followed by John Spencer’s team which recorded a 12-shot win.
Results: Denise Meulman, Barry Rogers, Helena Rogers and Ray Chapman won 27-10. Ray Bligh, Colin Butler, Tom Bonney and John Spencer won 24-12.
Aggie Pichard, John Black, Marg McIntyre and Yvonne van der Wees lost 19-22.

SATURDAY
DIVISION 2 – MORDIALLOC 83 d CRANBOURNE RSL 53
The Division 2 side travelled to downtown Mordialloc and suffered a beating with Bill Bradbury’s team the only shining light with a four-shot win.
Walter Brannan’s team narrowly went down after fighting back late in the game.
Results: Alan Reynolds, Ricky Crawford, Wally Ballard and Bill Bradbury won 16-12.
Jim Grant, Karen Hickson, Steve Hickson and Walter Brannan lost 14-18.
John Vowles, Ken Walker, Jesus Carretero and Ken Hocking lost 11-26.
Fred Scicluna, Barry Graham, Ray Chapman and Yvonne van der Wees lost 12-27.

DIVISION 5 – NOBLE PARK 82 d CRANBOURNE RSL 80
The Division 5 side went down fighting in a close loss to Noble Park.
John Spencer’s group nearly got the team over the line with a 10-shot win. A win is just around the corner.
Results: Ray Bligh, Kate Currie, Rob Elliott and John Spencer won 26-16.
Iteje Maat, Greg Jones, Ken McLeod and Maree Hodges lost 17-19.
Densie Meulman, Graham Dore, Helena Rogers and Cyril Arlove lost 17-23.
David Angee, Marg McIntyre, Marijan Bobetic and Michael Ryan lost 20-24.

DIVISION 8 – CLAYTON 50 d CRANBOURNE RSL 28
After a good win last week the side came back to earth with a big loss.
Percy Leake’s team did well, just going down by two shots.
Results: Joe Hart, Joe Oxenbury, Max Pearson and Percy Leake lost 17-19.
Tom Hodges (returning after back troubles), Michelle Smith, Harry Mills and Doug Ambrose lost 11-31.

CRANBOURNE RSL 40 d MURRUMBEENA 34
After a bad loss last week the team bounced back well, recording a six-shot away
win.
Murray Bulte’s team guided Cranbourne home with an 11-shot win.
Results: Aggie Pichard, Michelle Wallace, Paul Kofler and Murray Bulte won 23-12.
Peter Campion, Hank Reefman, Laurie Meagher and Arthur Underwood lost 17-22.
