Princess… whatsername?

By BRIDGET COOK

ALL your favourite fairy tale characters will take to the stage in Cranbourne next week for BATS Theatre Company’s latest musical.
Princess Whatsername, directed by Thomas Out, is a comedic musical about a princess who wakes up in the middle of the misty forest with no memory of who she is or where she came from.
With help from those she meets along the way, including Hansel and Gretel, Snow White, Goldilocks and Rapunzel, she recovers her memory and is reunited with her family and her prince.
Mr Out said a lot of hard work had gone into the show and encouraged families to head along and see the musical during the school holidays.
“If you are looking for a fun, fantasy filled show for the whole family then look no further,” he said.
“Just sit back, relax, and be prepared to be transported to a land of magic and mystery.
“A lot of work has gone into making this show possible, with a cast of nearly 30 ranging in age from seven to 22, rehearsing twice a week for the past nine weeks.
“We have also had a dedicated team working behind the scenes making sets, props and costumes and I am proud to say that this team also includes a number of cast members.”
Princess Whatsername will kick off at the Cranbourne Community Theatre, in Brunt Street, on Monday 22 September, with shows daily until Thursday 25 September.
