Coodabeen for lunch

NOTED Australian songwriter, guitarist and radio personality Greg Champion has been added to the line-up for the inaugural Casey Cardinia Biggest Ever Blokes Barbecue on Friday 12 September.
Up to 400 people are expected to attend the event at the Cardinia Cultural Centre, to raise money and awareness for prostate cancer research.
The recruitment of Champion completes a bumper entertainment line-up, spearheaded by former Test cricketer and noted commentator Damien Fleming, former AFL start Scott Cummings and a special guest appearance by AFL games record holder Michael Tuck.
Champion is most recognised for his work as part of the Coodabeen Champions as a songwriter and guitarist.
He often appears on the program writing songs about both Aussies rules football and cricket.
Since the 1980s he has penned many tunes on the Australian game. Of these, the most famous is That’s The Thing About Football, which has gone down as a classic Australian rules song, and has been used on the Seven Network’s AFL coverage.
Ticket sales are going well for the Casey Cardinia Biggest Ever Blokes Barbecue at $110 a head – which includes a gourmet barbecue lunch, all drinks and a full afternoon of entertainment.
Bookings can still be made by contacting organising committee chairman Garry Howe on 0407 203 525 or through Trybooking at www.trybooking.com/FGVZ
