AT A recent Casey council meeting it was brought up about hoon driving where young people are using speed humps as launching ramps.
It was also brought up about speed humps to be put in place around certain streets in Berwick Springs, and some residents are not in favour of this happening.
The word “hoon” seems to only apply to young people from a certain age doing anti-social behaviour like burnouts, doughnuts and, most of all, speeding.
This bring me to ask what about us adults, how many people have been caught speeding and fined?
Excessive speeding comes under the word “hoon” and how many adults are still using mobile phones ileagally while driving?
I see just as many adults doing this as young people.
If we want our children to be responsable on the roads, we as parents need to step up and show leadership and educate our younger generation and stop blaming them.
Having more police on the road is not the answer.
Having a police and council forum with young drivers would be a start.
