Broken down cars torched

By BRIDGET COOK

POLICE are seeking information over a spate of car fires across Casey over the weekend, with police believing at least a few of them are linked.
The first occurred about 2.30am on Sunday morning in Quarters Boulevard, in Cranbourne West.
A stolen Toyota Corolla sedan was dumped and set alight using an accelerant.
On Sunday night at 6.50pm, a 2012 Renault which was parked at a factory in Star Crescent, Hallam, was set on fire.
In the early hours of Monday morning, three broken down cars which had been left on the side of roads around Casey were also torched.
At about 2am, a white 1998 Peugeot sedan that had been left in a median strip along Thompsons Road, about 100 metres west of the Rosebank Drive intersection, was destroyed by fire.
A short time later, at about 2.25am, a broken down Holden sedan was set alight along Narre Warren Cranbourne Road, near Glasscocks Road.
A 1996 BMW sedan which was left on the side of Heatherton Road in Endeavour Hills after breaking down was also destroyed by fire.
A number of broken down cars were also targeted in the Frankston around the same time and police believe they may be linked to those in Casey.
Anyone with information about any of the fires is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
