Growing interest in flora

THOSE who have an interest in botanical art are invited to join the Cranbourne Botanical Illustrators Group.
The group is taking enrolments for term four, with classes held fortnightly on Wednesdays between 10am and 3pm.
Group member Margaret Holloway urged people to get involved in the classes.
“Marta Salamon, a well-respected and talented artist, is the tutor,” she said.
“The class, which is suitable for beginners or more experienced artists, is limited to 10 students ensuring personal attention.”
Ms Holloway said anyone who wanted to see what the group was all about could visit the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne on either Sunday 24 or 31 August between 11.30am and 1.30pm.
There will be illustrators in the visitors centre so people can see the artists at work and ask questions, along with some finished artworks to view.
Class fees are $210 for those who are members of the Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens or $234 for non-members.
For more information or to join the group, contact Ms Holloway on 0438 985 382 or margaretmholloway@yahoo.com.
