A MAN was lucky to escape injury after he was the target of a drive-by shooting in Cranbourne East in the early hours of Saturday.
Police said a 59-year-old man had just pulled into a driveway of a home in Briarcrest Drive about 3.40am when a red car pulled up nearby.
Three shots were fired from the vehicle, hitting the bonnet and windscreen of the victim’s car while he was still in it, police said.
The victim was not injured.
The driver of the red car then turned their headlights off and drove away.
Echo Task Force detectives are handling the case and looking for any information about the incident.
“As the investigation is active and on-going it is not appropriate to comment further,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.
