THE woman fatally injured at a Narre Warren South home on Sunday night was from Sydney.
Jian Li, 48, of Cranbourne, was charged on Monday with murdering Dong Mei Sun, 54, at the Harold Keys Drive property after police were called to the residence around 10.30pm on Sunday night and found the woman suffering from fatal upper-body injuries.
It is understood Ms Sun, from Doonside in Sydney’s West, died at the scene.
Mr Li was soon arrested and interviewed by police before appearing briefly in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Mr Li has been remanded in custody and will appear for a committal mention in November.
No application for bail was made.
