Body found in blaze house

By BRIDGET COOK

POLICE located a body after searching a house destroyed by fire in Cranbourne this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to a house in Haydon Court shortly after 12.30pm.
The CFA extinguished the blaze and a body, which has yet to be identified, was located inside.
The death is believed to be suspicious, during the early stages of the investigation.
A CFA spokeswoman said five units attended the scene.
“We had two people who had to wear breathing apparatus due to the potential toxic smoke in the house,” the spokesperson said.
“The fire was controlled at 1.10pm. It was fully involved and quite a serious one.”
Arson and Explosives Squad detectives attended the scene and will prepare a report for the Coroner.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
