New digs for pigs

NO MATTER how hard the big bad wolf huffs and puffs, he would still have trouble getting to the pigs at Myuna Farm.
The animals now have new homes at the Doveton Farm made from straw, wood and bricks – based on the fable of the Three Little Pigs.
The City if Casey undertook the project with the support of Corrections Victoria who provided $5000 and people to assist with the work.
City of Casey mayor Geoff Ablett said the new pig pens were designed to be both entertaining and educational.
“This is not only a novel way to construct the pens, but also helps make feeding time more convenient and allows the pigs to be transferred between pens easily,” he said.
“Myuna Farm is a popular example of farming life in the suburbs, with more than 135,000 visitors each year.”
People can visit the pigs and see their new abode at Myuna Farm, 182 Kidds Road, Doveton, between 10am and 4pm daily.
