Against the flow

The other day I was driving along a road without a footpath just as dusk was falling and I saw two folk exercising, but they were running with the traffic.
This is dangerous. When a pedestrian is using a carriageway because there is no sidewalk, then one should walk or run against the traffic, not with it.
That is, if one is running or walking in a northerly direction then one should be on the edge of the south-bound traffic, not the north-bound traffic.
