String of thefts

POLICE believe a number of thefts involving cars in Berwick over the weekend are linked.
Valuables were stolen from two cars and a Subaru Impreza was also taken in the early hours of Saturday 24 May.
At about 4.50am, someone gained entry to a Holden Astra parked in the driveway of a house in Shannon Way and stole a number of items.
A Toyota sedan, parked outside a house in Bettina Court, was also broken into and items stolen.
Between midnight and 11am, a Subaru Impreza, parked in Buchanan Road was stolen, along with a wallet and credit cards inside the vehicle.
The thefts come as Casey receives assistance from the Operations Response Unit (ORU) over the next couple of months to address the high level of crime issues in the area.
Police will be using the ORU members to target theft of cars and theft from cars – which continues to be a huge problem in Casey. The members will be doing extra patrols in crime hot spots.
Anyone with information about the Berwick thefts is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
