CASEY Grammar School students are ready to rock‘n’roll as they prepare to take to the stage in their school production.
The year 10 drama students have been busy rehearsing their rendition of the hilarious musical Doo Wop Wed Widing Hood and are inviting the community to come along and see the finished product.
The story centres around Red Riding Hood and her sisters, Medium Purple Riding Hood and Big Green Riding Hood, who live with their couch potato parents.
On the other side of the magical kingdom three princes – Strong Prince Justin, Wise Prince Jason and Loud Prince Frank – have to choose a bride.
All three would like to woo Red Riding Hood.
With the help of the Fairy Godmother, the princes set out on a quest to decide who wins Red’s hand in marriage, but the big question is whether Red is ready to get married.
The 1950s rock‘n’roll fairy tale includes big bad wolves, hula hoops, evil queens and poodle skirts.
The cast consists of 15 students who not only perform in the show but had a hand in set and prop design, choreography, costuming and making directorial decisions.
Doo Wop Wed Widing Hood will be performed on Thursday 5 June at 7pm at the Casey Grammar Performing Arts Centre, 3 New Holland Drive, Cranbourne East.
Tickets will be available at the door on the night for $5.
