Vital services under one roof

CRANBOURNE will soon be home to a one-stop shop for government services, where people can access Centrelink and Medicare under one roof as of next week.
The Cranbourne Medicare office will move into a new-look Centrelink service centre, which will come into effect on Monday 12 May.
All staff and services from the current Medicare shopfront in Cranbourne Park Shopping Centre will move to the Centrelink premises at 7-9 Codrington Street, Cranbourne.
Cranbourne Service Centre manager Robert Philpott said having the services in one place would be more convenient for local residents, particularly for families in the area.
“Families wanting to inquire about their Centrelink payments will now be able to do their Medicare business at the same time,” he said.
“The Cranbourne one-stop shop will have an easy-to-navigate, open-plan layout with modern facilities, making it a more pleasant environment for both customers and staff.
“It’s located near the main shopping precinct, has ample parking nearby and is close to public transport.
“We’ll also have an improved self-service area, meaning customers can get online, instead of waiting in line, to complete a range of their Centrelink and Medicare business.
“Our staff can show you how to use these facilities, including signing up to myGov which allows you to access your Centrelink, Medicare and Child Support information, as well as your eHealth records using one login and password.”
Mr Philpott said staff could also connect customers to the department’s Express Plus mobile apps, so they could interact with Centrelink and Medicare from the palm of their hand – anywhere, anytime.
