Double tap for helpers

A NEW system has been introduced in Casey which helps organisations tap into the supply of willing volunteers.
The City of Casey has introduced a new and improved Volunteer Matcher, which is now also compatible with mobile devices.
The online program provided helps community groups and organisations match up with local residents who are willing to volunteer their time, skills and energy to help the community.
City of Casey Mayor Geoff Ablett said the program has increased volunteering opportunities in Casey in an easy and accessible way.
“Volunteer Matcher has been a great way to get residents involved with the community, council and local volunteer organisations,” he said.
“It not only helps volunteers seek out places for them to contribute their time, but the website also makes it easy for volunteer organisations to recruit new people.
“With its recent enhancements, the website is even easier to use, it is strictly confidential and organisations seeking volunteers can place an advertisement for free.”
To see some of the current opportunities for volunteering within Casey or to advertise a volunteering position visit www.volunteermatcher.com.au.
