Lizard king lives

By BRIDGET COOK

HAVING life-like dinosaurs displayed around his property is just another case of ’boys and their toys’ for Tom Kapitany.
The owner of Crystal World and Prehistoric Journeys in Devon Meadows has managed to house a number of the prehistoric creatures at his business over the years so that the Casey community can enjoy them.
Mr Kapitany is the director of The National Dinosaur Museum and has managed to secure the life-like creations at his property for the next month before they make their way to the museum and other dinosaur parks across the country.
“There’s a life-like tyrannosaurus rex, stegosaurus, hadrosaurus, spinosaurus, pterosaurs and triceratops, to name a few,” he said.
“I’ve been buying and selling fossils and national history type stuff for years and all of this is just like my ’big boys and their toys’ interest.
“I managed to get a few of these dinosaurs here a few years ago.
“This time I’ve managed to get a whole lot more so kids can come in and enjoy them before they find their way to other locations.”
The dinosaurs will be at Crystal World, 13 Olive Road, Devon Meadows, from now until the end of the school holidays.
Entry is by gold coin donation with all money raised going to Australian Animal Rescue.
