STUDENTS at Cranbourne Primary School were immersed in the sights, sounds and tastes of Indonesia as they celebrated Cultural Diversity Week.
The school held its annual Indonesian Day on Friday, where students and teachers got to experience the Indonesian culture.
LOTE teacher Mary Chen said the day aimed to give students a chance to celebrate and learn all about a different culture.
“Students participated in learning Indonesian traditional music and dances, cooking and Indonesian art activities,” she said.
“They made masks, puppets and kites.
“The school engaged an Indonesian facilitator from Bagus Kan to work with the students on Indonesian music and dancing.
“The students put on a short cultural performance of the various dances and a mask parade.
“It was a dress-up day and both students and teachers dressed up in Indonesian style clothing to support this event.”
