IT WAS a picturesque setting and fine dining as the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival came to Cranbourne last week.
The Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne was one of 22 locations which hosted a Regional World’s Longest Lunch, as part of the festival, on Friday 14 March.
Part of the Australian Garden was transformed into an open-air restaurant for the inaugural event which aimed to celebrate the best local food and flora.
About 70 guests enjoyed a three-course lunch prepared by acclaimed chef Andrew Blake, which including ocean trout, applewood barbequed chicken breast and caramel milk panna cotta.
Cranbourne Gardens director Chris Russell the Australian Garden was the perfect setting for the longest lunch event.
“The beautiful location was a perfect match for the gourmet lunch prepared by renowned chef Andrew Blake of Blakes Feast matched with wines from acclaimed local winery Ocean Eight,” he said.
“Our guests enjoyed a great day out, with a wonderfully relaxed vibe at the tables and lots of laughter and friendly chatter.
