Speeding suspension

A SUSPENDED P-plate driver had his car impounded this morning in Tooradin for travelling at 30km/h over the speed limit.
Police detected the Tooradin man, 20, travelling at 130km/h in a 100km/h zone on the South Gippsland Highway.
Police intercepted the driver and found his licence was also suspended.
He had his car impounded and is expected to be charged with driving while suspended, driving at an excessive speed and being a probationary driver driving a prohibited vehicle.
Police will be out in force this weekend as part of Operation ARID.
They say motorists and other road users can expect to see an increased police presence on all major arterial and holiday destination roads.
