POLICE have urged the community to keep an eye out for suspicious behaviour following a spike of water metre thefts in Casey.
There were a number of reports of stolen water meters over the weekend, particularly in Hallam, Lynbrook and Lyndhurst.
Police said they are usually sold, used for scrap metal and there were reports of tradesmen using stolen metres when filling pools to not register some of the water.
A Volkswagen Jetta, with a trailer on, was spotted in the vicinity of a theft in Lynbrook over the weekend.
The community has been urged to be vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
