A super romance

By BRIDGET COOK

ROMANCE is well and truly alive in Hampton Park, with figures revealing the suburb is home to some of the most generous Valentine’s Day gift givers in the country.
Figures released from Woolworth’s showed that the Hampton Park store sold the most flowers last year in the lead-up to the day of love and had similar results on Friday.
Hampton Park had the highest sales in terms of flowers, while the Queen Victoria Village store sold the most chocolates and confectionery.
Hampton Park Woolworth’s store manager Simon Thompson said Valentine’s Day was always popular with Hampton Park customers and 2014 was no exception.
“Local customers love our fresh red roses and beautiful mixed floral bouquets full of colour,” he said.
“With the popularity of our flowers, it’s not surprising that Hampton Park is one of the busiest stores in the country for Valentine’s Day.
“Our customers are a bunch of romantics and our team members always go out of their way to help them find the perfect gift for their loved one.
“To be named one of the most romantic stores in the country is a testament to the generous nature of local residents.”
