First steps on school journey

OVERSIZED school uniforms were pressed, bags were packed to the brim, lunchboxes were full and first day jitters were rife as thousands of prep students started on their school journey this week.
School is back across Casey and there was sure to be plenty of smiles and tears, from students and parents alike, as preppies walked into the classroom for the first time.
Tooradin Primary School early years co-ordinator Rachel Davis said many preps walked in holding hands in either excitement or nervous anticipation for their very first day.
“It is always exciting to share in the joy of each prep child’s first day of school and to help them grow and learn in this important year,” she said.
“Teaching our new prep students is a tremendous privilege and challenge as we strive to encourage each child to develop a love of learning and to do their best in everything they experience.
“The first day of school is remembered for years to come and each child will have many memories to share with their anxious mums and dads at the end of the day.”
