Success grows for fresh food market

The Berwick Farmers Market is growing in size, value and contribution to farmers and the community.
The Christmas Twilight market in December attracted a huge crowd of shoppers and more than 300 children who delighted in the gifts, jumping castle and face painting.
There was a full complement of stall holders who made a great effort to package goods and keep up the supply of fresh produce.
Customers were delighted with the event and kept telling organisers that they will continue to come to the market because “the Old Cheese Factory markets always have fresh and high quality produce”.
This year the market will continue the established standard.
There are now more than 50 stallholders who aim to provide the best quality goods to meet customers’ tastes and needs.
The market this month will offer a very wide range of fruit and vegetable products.
There will be keen competition in the offerings of seasonal fruit.
Cherries, blackberries, strawberries, and blueberries are currently at their very best.
The good weather has seen the outstanding production of high quality vegetables.
Customers can be sure to get the best selection at a fair price.
The market offers a very wide range of products with which customers can build outstanding fresh meals.
This is demonstrated by the products showcased by three particular producers.
Dan and Cath Drougas can supply families with first quality meat products including all cuts of beef and lamb or a full roast.
A delicious entree can be constructed from their award winning gourmet Cornish, beef and honey, beef and pepper, and chorizo sausages.
Dan and Cath’s customers can buy by phone on the web at: info@thefarmersmarket.com.au and collect their purchases at the market.
Then there is Helen Scott’s organic gourmet bakery products from Hope Farm.
More than a dozen bread types are available.
Helen noted “that her products are made from the finest wholegrain flours, sea salt and filtered water”.
The wonderful breads, provided by Hope Farm, stay fresh for days.
Order online at info@hopefarm.com.au up it up on market day.
Long-term stallholders Dianne and Ron Moore of Labertouche Farm are the source of outstanding free range eggs.
It is a wise move for customers to visit them early because their high quality eggs always sell out quickly. Pre-order from diron@dcsi.net.au.
The market also offers dozens of products to support meals which include herbs, nuts, spices, oils, wine and beers.
There are shrubs and fresh cut flowers to bring colour to homes.
All stallholders seek to meet the highest standards of freshness in all their products and strive to always give outstanding customer service.
Enjoy the experience at the Rotary Club of Berwick Farmers Market, The Old Cheese Factory, 34 Homestead Road, Berwick, on Saturday 25 January from
8am to 12.30pm. Free parking.
