REAL RSL fighting spirit was put to the test on Saturday as two teams fought out nail-biting games and both coming out victorious. In fact all three teams won in another impressive performance from the club.

In Division 8, there was a nail-biting finish to a thrilling game of bowls with the RSL getting home by the barest possible margin of one shot. New skip Maree Hodges team ensuring the win with a three-shot win. That’s three in a row now for this new team and there’s certainly more wins to come.

CRANBOURNE BOWLS CLUB
A revitalised Cranbourne Bowls Club division one side made it three wins in a row with a 13-shot win, on the road against Burden Park.
Chairman of selectors Rob ‘Cyclopes’ Lillis was delighted with the win.
“With a new belief in ourselves we can beat anyone in the competition,” he said.
“No more will sides treat Cranbourne as the easy beats. We still have a long way to go but with three rinks up against a quality opposition this is a very satisfying result.”
Meanwhile, with a large number of players unavailable this week, the remaining four Cranbourne sides were defeated but hopefully this situation will improve next week and we can look forward to better results from these teams.
