DEVON Meadows Primary School (DMPS) and Berwick TEC teamed up this year on a project of mutual benefit to both schools.
A group of Berwick TEC landscape gardening students got to put into practice what they had been learning at DMPS with a number of landscaping projects.
DMPS assistant principal Brendan McDonough said Berwick TEC students worked with a group of its senior boys most Fridays.
“The TEC students pass on many landscaping skills to our students and have become excellent mentors,” he said.
Mr McDonough said Berwick TEC carpentry students also visited the school recently to build a magnificent street scene for the junior students.
“DMPS students were extremely excited to see the arrival of the house fronts and have been using them daily for all sorts of imaginative play,” he said.
“The next step is for our senior students to paint the street scene.”
