Gulls back in hunt for coach

By DAVID NAGEL

TOORADIN Football Club is on the hunt for a new senior coach after Tom Hallinan stepped down from the role on Tuesday night.
Hallinan – who had signed on with the Seagulls for the 2014 season – will move to Aberfeldie in the Essendon and District Football League as an assistant-coach under former Collingwood and Brisbane star Mal Michael.
Tooradin president Derek Genoni said the timing of the decision was not ideal, but Hallinan leaves with the full blessing of the club.
“It’s not ideal timing, but the Tooradin Football Club is all about creating pathways to higher levels, Tom wants to step up to the next level and we fully endorse his move,” Genoni said.
“We’ve already spoken to potential candidates but the club has a very wide perspective on who the new coach might be.”
