Family fun on the Run

Thousands of motorcyclists will travel en masse to Phillip Island from Cranbourne for the Moto GP.

ONE of the biggest events on the Casey calendar will rumble into Cranbourne this weekend.
With sunny weather predicted, thousands of motorcyclists and spectators are expected to enjoy the fun and excitement of the MRA Cranbourne GP Run this Saturday.
The streets of Cranbourne will come alive with entertainment and activities starting at 8.15am with something on offer for the whole family including children’s workshops, rides and market stalls.
There will be an interactive Kids’ Zones in Clydesdale Square and Lyall Street, face painting and photo opportunities with Disney-Pixar’s Lightning McQueen.
At 10am celebrity guest Mick Molloy will wave-off thousands of motorcyclists from a cherry picker in High Street as they travel en masse to Phillip Island for the Moto GP.
City of Casey mayor Amanda Stapledon has urged to Casey community to come along and join in the fun.
“The MRA Cranbourne GP Run is one of the largest and most exciting events in Victoria, and Casey is proud to be able to host it again during its 15th year,” she said.
“The event isn’t just for motorcycle enthusiasts, it will feature fantastic entertainment for the whole family including various activities, workshops, rides, entertainment and market stalls.
“In particular, visitors can look forward to a celebrity wave off from one of Australia’s most recognised and loved comedians, Mick Molloy, which is sure to be a stand out.
“Each year, the event attracts thousands of people from all around Victoria who arrive for the festivities at 8.15am and stay well after the motorcycle wave-off until the end of the day at noon.
“Local businesses are also sure to reap the financial and brand exposure benefits from the event’s foot traffic which will number in the thousands.”
Festivities will continue after the riders have left, with fun to be had until noon.
