GRAFFITI and vandalism has continued towards neighbours of a Cranbourne skate park since the council looked into the problem.
Neighbouring residents signed a petition calling on the council to relocate the Brookland Greens skate park after they were continually terrorised by youths using that park.
The council looked into the matter and said it was not feasible to relocate the skate park as the demolition itself would cost about $20,000.
The council resolved to instead contact Cranbourne police to discuss trialling an after-dark curfew for three months at the skate park to see if it deterred the anti-social behaviour.
Local resident Patricia Smith contacted the News again last week and said since the council had refused to carry out the relocation, the attacks from the skate park users had continued.
“Just last week we’ve had golf balls thrown at our house and our neighbours fence was attacked with graffiti,” she said.
“That neighbour has had her windows smashed before too when a rocks were thrown through them.”
The neighbour’s fence was tagged a number of times with expletive language.
Ms Smith said the behaviour had been ongoing for months.
“We’ve had rocks thrown at our house, our rubbish bin pushed through our front window, our fence has been punched in and we’ve been abused by some of the users,” she said.
