Coaching hunt continues

CASEY CARDINIA FOOTBALL LEAGUE

HAMPTON Park Football Club is still yet to name its senior coach for 2014, despite earlier reports that former Nar Nar Goon premiership mentor Clint Williams had been given the job.
Craig Seers, a member of the sub-committe tasked with appointing the new Redbacks coach, said the club had spoken to six candidates but Williams wasn’t one of them.
“We’ve won one game in two years and it’s hard enough attracting players and coaches without this (misinformation) out there,” he said.
Seers added that the club had “a good base of young kids” and it was looking for the right candidate to lead the group into a period of sustained success.
The Redbacks will hold their annual general meeting at Robert Booth Reserve from 9am on Sunday, when a new committee will be named. See next week’s News for the full story.
