THE Dennis Family Corporation has lent a helping hand to more than 20 organisations in the Cranbourne area.
Through its annual Hunt Club Community Fund, the estate project manager awarded 22 local not-for-profit groups a total of $11,500 on Saturday 28 September.
The community fund awarded grants of either $500 or $1000 to the eligible applicant groups as assessed and determined by an independent judging panel.
Organisations to receive the grants included Balla Balla Community Centre, Casey Comets Football Club, Casey/Cranbourne People with Multiple Sclerosis, Cranbourne Police Senior Citizens Register and Cranbourne Lions Choir Incorporated.
Dennis Family Corporation chief executive Peter Levinge congratulated the grant recipients.
“Our Community Fund at The Hunt Club is now in its 12th year and to date has distributed over $160,000 to local groups in support of a variety of special projects, programs and activities helping people of all ages,” he said.
“We are pleased that the number of groups approved to receive grant funding has increased from 16 in 2011 to 22 this year, which widens the reach of our assistance to even more sections of the community.”
This year’s community fund presentations were combined with a free breakfast event for local residents in Archers Field Reserve at The Hunt Club to celebrate AFL Grand Final day.
