TWO of Casey’s aquatic and recreation centres have received platinum recognition for their aquatic safety and risk management.
Casey ARC in Narre Warren and Casey RACE in Cranbourne East, achieved platinum pool status as the result of a recent Lifesaving Victoria audit.
Lifesaving Victoria’s Platinum Pool Program was introduced to highlight aquatic facilities that have achieved the highest standards in the provision of aquatic safety and risk management.
City of Casey mayor Amanda Stapledon said the two Casey pools joined the ranks of just 25 facilities in the state which have received the platinum pool recognition.
“Both facilities have been recognised for their innovative programs and have won a number of awards over the years and the receipt of platinum pool accreditation is a further sign of how highly regarded the facilities are,” she said.
The accreditation requires each facility to successfully complete the four assessments in a 12-month period including National Aquatic Facility Safety Assessment, Life Saving Victoria’s mystery guest visit and Work Health and Safety Assessment and Watch Around Water accreditation.
The facility must also undertake an internal safety assessment every six months.
