CRANBOURNE Centrelink has made a commitment to the community.
Manager Les Brown is hoping that the canned food drive during Homless Persons Week will be the first of many community conscious efforts on behalf of staff at the Cranbourne Service Centre.
“We are trying to do a little bit more community work,” he said.
Last month, staff from Cranbourne Centrelink did a canned food drive and collection and donated these goods, plus blankets and clothing to Anglicare.
They also hosted a self-funded barbecue which raised $165.
Mr Brown explained that the local service centre is in the process of trying to establish partnerships with other Not-for-profit organisations to increase their own community work in the City of Casey.
“We are looking to see what we can do from a community aspect,” Mr Brown said.
