Shortlist for top spot

THE top businesses in Casey were recognised last night (Wednesday) after the announcement of this year’s Casey Business Award Finalists.
Finalists were shortlisted from more than 90 nominations and announced at a cocktail function held at Monash University.
City of Casey Mayor Amanda Stapledon attended the function and spoke about the importance of the awards.
“The Casey Business Awards acknowledge and celebrate the many outstanding businesses operating in the City of Casey,” she said.
“It is an opportunity to recognise excellence among our 19,500 businesses and support the thriving local business community.”
The awards are now in their fourth year and, according to Cr Stapledon, the calibre of businesses is increasing each year.
“Each year the number and quality of entrants continues to grow making the judging process extremely difficult due to the high standard of the entrants,” she said.
“In fact, the quality was so high that judges of both independent panels had to consider the small factors that gave our finalists that extra edge.”
Cr Stapledon congratulated those who were made finalists this year.
The 2013 Casey Business Awards winners will be announced on Thursday 17 October 2013 at Arthur Wren Hall in Hampton Park.
