Richo for breakfast

By BRIDGET SCOTT

STUDENTS were star-struck on Friday when Tigers superstar Matthew Richardson towered over excited members of the Cranbourne Park Breakfast Club.
Before signing autographs and getting photos, Windermere Ambassador ‘Richo’, helped dish out the students’ breakfast, and went on to explain the importance of a healthy meal to kick-start the day.
“It’s so important to start your day off with a healthy, nutritious breakfast,” the former footballer said.
The Cranbourne Park Primary School Breakfast Club started two years ago, and was an initiative by Windermere after many children from the school were reported to be undersized.
A representative from Windermere Laura Gill, said Richo’s visit was a highlight for the students from the school.
“Matthew attending the breakfast club as Windermere’s ambassador is such a special treat for the children, the smiles on their faces are absolutely priceless,” she said.
The breakfast club runs twice a week on Monday and Friday mornings and includes children from grades Prep to six.
The breakfast club, which currently has 140 children registered, endeavours to help each child start their day in the healthiest way possible.
The children are responsible for making their own breakfast and use the opportunity to network with students from other grades and make friends.
For more information about the project contact Windermere’s Communities for Children School Hub on 5995 4655 or email info@windermere.org.au
