ALMOST 40 puppies and dogs seized from a Cannons Creek puppy farm now have a place to call home.
At a hearing at the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court in April, an order was granted for 11 border collie dogs and 27 puppies under the council’s care to be re-homed.
The council brought 51 charges against business owner, John Tresize, including conducting a domestic animal business on unregistered premises along with other offences under the Domestic Animal Act and Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act.
The council had overwhelming response with 40 people expressing interest in welcoming a rescued puppy into their families.
The Lost Dogs’ Home is currently de-sexing, microchipping and introducing the dogs with their new owners.
Mr Tresize’s case has been adjourned for further hearing at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 30 May.
