Their bit for children in pain

STAFF at a Hampton Park bank clowned around for a good cause last week.
On Friday, the Hampton Park Commonwealth Bank staff embraced their inner clown, hosted raffles and sold jelly beans to customers to raise funds for the Clown Doctors.
The business will also be collecting donations in store throughout April.
Branch manager Tina Barker said she hoped the local community would get behind this great cause by making a donation in store.
“Here at the Hampton Park branch, we’re passionate about supporting the work the Clown Doctors do in hospitals around the country, bringing laughter and joy to sick and injured children and their families.”
Doctor Peter Spitzer, known as Dr Fruit-Loop, who runs the Clown Doctors program said he would like to thank Hampton Park for their support.
“Research has consistently shown that laughter can provide a variety of health benefits such as reduction in pain, fear and stress as well as muscle relaxation and a positive impact on the immune system,” he said.
“We’d like to thank the Hampton Park Commonwealth Bank branch staff for opening their doors to raise much-needed funds to help put more Clown Doctors in hospitals and smiles on children’s faces.”
Donations can be made throughout April at commbank.com.au/clowndoctors.
