Golf to tackle kids at risk

CASEY real estate agent Stockdale and Leggo of Cranbourne and Narre Warren is preparing to do what it can to help kids in the community.
The local real estate agent will combine with the YMCA to host a corporate golf day and luncheon to help those children in the community who are deemed at risk.
Representatives from local businesses are invited to come along for a game of golf on the top class 18-hole layout in Cranbourne South.
Golf will be followed by a luncheon with guest speakers including Victorian Youth Mentor of the Year Kevin Clarke, as well as a youth specialist from the Casey region.
YMCA Youth Mentoring Specialist Rebecca Graham said the day will provide a great chance for local businesses to engage with one another, while raising funds for a worthwhile cause.
“We see this event as not only a chance for people to enjoy a game of golf, but a chance to network with other local business operators while raising funds for a great cause,” she said.
The funds raised from the event will go toward recruiting, training and supporting mentors, as well as young people, their families and anyone else involved with the YMCA Youth Mentoring Program in the City of Casey.
“The City of Casey has one of the largest youth populations of any local government area in Australia, and yet is lower than state average in education and employment outcomes,” said Ms Graham.
“Through the power of mentoring, we are making a huge difference but need the community to support and get behind us.”
Opportunities are available for businesses to purchase a sponsorship package and promote their business.
