Sign up to make vote count

LYNDHURST residents will select a new State Government representative at a by-election on Saturday 27 April.
Tim Holding resigned on 18 February during his fourth term as the electorate’s MP.
Acting Electoral Commissioner Liz Williams said voting in the by-election was compulsory.
“By law, if you are an Australian citizen over the age of 18, you must be enrolled at your current address and vote or risk a fine,” she said.
“All enrolment forms must reach the Victorian Electoral Commission by the close of roll at 8pm on Tuesday 12 March.”
Most people can update their address by visiting vec.vic.gov.au and using the online application to complete an electronic enrolment update.
People who are enrolling for the first time, who have changed their name or don’t have a driver’s licence can pre-complete their form online but will need to print it out, sign it and have it witnessed before returning it.
Enrolment forms are also available from any post office, Centrelink or Australian Electoral Commission office.
The Victorian Electoral Commission will write to all enrolled voters prior to election day to detail the location of early voting and election day voting centres.
